I’m Kayla, a Missoula-based photographer for the wild, the hopelessly in love, and the ones who don’t do things just because they’re “supposed to.” Whether it’s your wedding day or a curated date night straight out of a rom-com, I’m here to capture your story. I don’t just take pretty pictures. I capture the moments that speak louder than words. The uncontrollable laughter, the wind-tousled hair, the stolen glances, and the way they look at you like you’re the only one in the world.

If you’ve ever thought about planning a couples session in Las Vegas, let me introduce you to one of my new favorite places — the Las Vegas Arts District. This spot has everything: vibrant walls, unique textures, cozy coffee shops, and just the right amount of that old-Vegas charm.
For E + N, this wasn’t an engagement shoot or anniversary session — just two people celebrating love, life, and being back in the same place after time apart. And honestly? That’s what made it so special.
Whether you’re local to Vegas or flying in for a weekend getaway, the Arts District is such an amazing backdrop for modern, playful couples photos. It’s perfect if you want photos that feel more like a date night than a photoshoot.
When E first reached out, she mentioned her husband was coming home from a long Air Force assignment, and they wanted to celebrate with something meaningful — something lighthearted that felt like them.
They didn’t want stiff poses or perfectly planned moments — they wanted connection, movement, and joy. The Arts District instantly came to mind. Between its color, texture, and creative energy, it was the perfect match for their personalities.
We wanted the session to feel easy and unfiltered — less about perfection, more about real emotion. Because honestly? That’s the kind of love story people connect with most.

We met up in the afternoon, right before golden hour — that dreamy time when the light softens and makes everything glow.
E + N showed up ready to have fun — laughing, teasing, and totally being themselves. They even had an impromptu game of rock-paper-scissors (which got intense in the best way).
As we wandered, E shared their story — meeting at Virginia Tech, a mountain proposal after a four-mile hike, and how they’ve grown through every season together. She said she knew from the moment they met that he was the one, and watching them interact, it was so obvious.
They’re that kind of couple who makes you believe in love that’s both easy and intentional — full of fun, trust, and little inside jokes.
E + N kept their outfits simple and timeless, which fit perfectly with the backdrop. My biggest tip for couples?
Dress for the setting and your personality — not the camera.
In the Arts District, you can lean into modern neutrals, a pop of color, or even something a little edgy. The goal is to move, laugh, and feel comfortable. The best photos always come from feeling confident and at ease.
We wrapped up the evening at Bar Boheme, one of my favorite hidden gems in downtown Las Vegas. It’s this moody, vintage-inspired bar that feels like a secret tucked away in the middle of the city.
The vibe is cozy and romantic — dim lighting, great cocktails, and the kind of energy that slows everything down. It was the perfect ending to their playful session, turning the photoshoot into a real date night.
If you’re planning your own Vegas session, I highly recommend ending it somewhere like this. It adds variety to your gallery and helps capture those more intimate, relaxed moments between you two.

The Arts District is one of my favorite spots for couples sessions because it’s packed with personality. Every corner has something different — bright murals, industrial walls, string lights, and those cozy little hidden gems that make your photos stand out.
